Angry first day of summer blues

i don't mind being laughed at, which is what i know you will do lol. first off i dislocated my shoulder while gettin ready to go fisnin, i wish with all the smart people we have in this world somebody could make a heavy duty battery without the heavy part. anyway, went down to the lake ( dale hollow) got the lights all set up caught 5 slabs in about 15 mins, laid down my favorite jigging pole with jig hanging in the water so i could rig up another rod and just as i turned my back something big, i would say a smallie hits my jig and flips my rod over the side, on top of that we did'nt get another hit till 3 this morning. some one will say why did you not have it in a rod holder and i will say it was laying right beside it. hope everyone had a better night than me.

Nope, pretty sure nobody will laugh at you, read enough posts and you'll realize everyone has bad days, take care of you shoulder!
I won't say it can't get worse, because it always can, but it will PROBABLY get better.
What makes a better lightning rod than a graphite fishing rod? NOTHING!

We may be laughing, but it's only because we've been there and it reminds us of the "times" we've had.

I also can't offer a solution on your shoulder and have lost a rod before but now I don't worry about donating a rod to the lake gods.

You can buy stryofoam floats for your rods but I buy foam pipe wrap from the hardware store and cut it down and glue it to all my rods even the long B'n'M poles. In fact I am more careless with my rods now and have lifted outfits out of the water and back into the boat on several occasions.

Here is a picture of one of them.http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...M/140_4067.jpg

I've had friends tell me that by losing a rod and reel just gives them a good excuse to go shopping for another. As for me I don't need anymore excuses to go shopping for fishing equipment since I seem to find myself shopping enough as it is.

I lost my balance and dropped a coffee can filled with concrete (my anchor) on my favorite Fenwick rod.

I still laugh about the time I removed the hook from a tiny bluegill--- and threw the needlenose pliers in the lake and held on to the fish... duh!
