Default Blue sky crappie fishing, any advice?

I always seem to struggle on those days when the sky is blue and there's not a cloud in sight. I always seem to do better when I have some cloud cover. Do you guys change tactics a bit on a blue sky day? Do you suppose the crappie go deeper? Any input appreciated.

I know I almost always find them deeper or under docks, floats, down trees, weed beds, etc. on those blue sky days - they don't like the sun and if shallow, they'll find shade, if deep, they'll move down in the water column so that they're out of the sun.

We move to deeper water when it's sunny and no clouds around. If we can't find them still, there's always bluegill to be caught.

Depends on the time of the year. Water temp above 80 degrees=deep water.

fish deep, keep moving, cover a lot of water and invite me for the boat ride.

    Good Luck.

Here the lake is mostly shallow. I fish the same cover in 6 to 9' water as always. The fish are usually tight to cover and the bottom.

Shooting docks is my ticket too! High pressure makes em get tight to cover and the sun makes them look for shade. DOCKS. Bluebird skies are tough fishing for all but docks are the ticket to consistantly catch crappie in hot weather.
