When the Sun sets.....

...... the crappies come a risin. I was out yesterday for some fishing and me and my dad pounded the crappies after the sun set. We had 2 minnows left and they got eaten fast so we were both throwing my jigs and pounded them. They are just loving my jigs around here. They never see anything like em only minnows and sometimes twister tails. 1/64oz works the best. These were some of the best crappies all year nothing under 7". Sadly we had to leave cause we werent prepared for night fishing, no flashlight or latern. Oh well guess I got to go back soon.:D

The twilight bite can be awesome - that's the time of day I caught my first crappie and got hooked on hunting those speckle-sided critters.

Sounds like a great time with your dad! Father/son fishing trips are awesome.

Keep the reports coming. It is refreshing to know there is at least one young person in the world that fishes instead of all of the evil activities there are to do. I admire you and look forward to yours and the post from all of the younger people here.

Well, I sure do envy you. The lakes I fish are city owned and you have to be off the water by sunset. Tell your dad he's a lucky guy to have you to take fishing. My two teenage daughters don't want anything to do with me and fishing. (they have however agreed to go fishing with me on fathers day-:D ) Keep the reports coming.

This bite wasnt as good as the last one. We managed 3 that were 8" and 7.5" and also lost a few. Oh well hopefully it will be better next time.
