Finally Crappie Fishing

I finally caught a bunch of crappie this year. I havent gotten into a school untill yesterday. I was using minnows around the bottom. They werent huge by all means, nothing over 9", so I didnt keep any but it sure was fun. They were hard to find cause of the cold front that came through. I was fishing off a dock. Cant wait to get into them again. Also need to bring some worms or waxies cause there are some big bull gills.:D

Congrats - now get yourself a few jigs - that way, if you run our of minnows and the bite is on, you won't have to stop fishing because you're out of bait - or if you haven't gotten to the bait shop yet, or are light on cash for the bait shop, you can still fish for crappie and bream.

It's always a good idea to set yourself up to have multiple options available at any given time.

I was fishing a forest preserve called Pratt Wayne Woods in Bartlett/Wayne, IL. I was using a twister tail and the jigs I tie but they wouldnt hit the cold front stoped the jig bite. I even went to a 1/64oz jig that I tied.
