Default Can you buy Rosie Reds in your area?

I was just curious how many states you can buy them. my supplier makes me pay 12 bucks a pound. I'm glad to get them. They sell for 1.55 a dozen in Columbus(1hour trip) and 1.00 in Lagrange(2 hour trip). I love the little fatheads myself. How many of you fish them?
thanks in advance for your time to answer!

I don't know of anyone in my area that has them, its hard to find someone that has regular shiners close to home.

If you use alot of them, build yourself a holding tank for them and order some.
Here is a website that you could order from.

There's a bait shop in Midfield AL (Right outside of Fairfield) on Bessemer super highway called Roy's Bait shop. It is about 1/2 mile from Western Hills Mall. I bought a few dozen last year.

I only know of one bait distributer in my area of East Texas and don't think he offers them at all, but I may ask to see if he can.

Smitty we get um cheap here in Arkansas, paying from 6.00 to 9.00 bucks a pound for rosies.

Here is a link to Andersons minnow farm. I see they do ship them if your interested.

Anderson's minnow farm is right down the road from me a little ways. I don't know how well rosies would hold up shipping real far. they are fragile little devils. they don't hold up real well in warm water. I fish them when i am on a clear water lake here in AR like greeson, cane creek, etc. I usually use fatheads more in stained water. it also depends on what the locals use & what's available locally. I'm gonna have to set me up a seine to hold minnows on the lake for the winter season when the water cools off here at the house, so i can go get 5-10 lbs, & just keep them by the dock.
