I don't know about your Geko but I have a Garmin GPS 72 and the way I do it is to go outside in my yard and mark it as a waypt and then edit it to the coordinates that I want to enter. I'm sure there are other ways but that works for me and I know how to do it.

    Default Geko

Steve, Thanks, I'm not up to snuff on the gps at all, and was trying to see if
the Geko would be the most simple to have.
All I want is to mark some condo's, and spots and Geko, being the entry level
for old farts like me, I thought might work.
    Thanks..............srm

Talk about old, I just turned 73 the 29th and I too like it simple and need a large screen which is why I went with a Garmin GPS 72. Don't need all the extras as I just use mine to mark waypts and for tracks and speed when pulling CB's. Didn't take too long to get use to it and so far it does everything I need.

SRM: From everything I've read, your Geko should work fine for marking waypoints and saving them. I know a lot of geocachers use them to find their geocaches, and you need some pretty precise coords to help the search. Just be sure to get as familiar with your manual as you can, and with practice, it just gets easier as you go.

I have an Etrex Legend, and I do it the same way Stevej does it. Make a spot anywhere, then edit the coordinates.

I used a Geko for several years and it was great for finding my way back to crappie beds I had marked. They do have a very small screen though so I would recommend a Garmin Map 76. You can get one from for $156 from - http://www.jandhproducts.com/_e/loc/...6%26so%3D0%26s

You may also want a power cord as they are hard an batteries - http://www.jandhproducts.com/_e/Garm...0_10085_00.htm

And you may want a Marine Mount - http://www.jandhproducts.com/_e/Garm...0_10300_00.htm

I just ordered all three for a fisheries biologist/friend and it was about 215 bux with shipping.
