    Default crappie anybody?

anyone doing any crappie fishing, thinking of getting back after them since they got the lake back down. I have been to busy with work, flathead fishing, and the house plus all the rain.

    Hi,

I just moved to Topeka and bought a cheap little boat. I've been trying to catch crappie at lake shawnee. Can any of you guys please recommend a place for me to go fishing? You are welcome to come with me in my boat I could use a fishing buddy.

You might check out the forum at http://davescountry.com/index.php?op...tpage&Itemid=1. Several of the posters there are fimiliar with Lake Shawnee.

    Default Hillsdale Lake

The crappie at Hillsdale lake are starting to come around. Was down on sunday and caught 15 most in the 10.5" range but they are at least starting a bite. In the Smith creek area

I hit up Melvern on Saturday and did pretty well...18 keepers in which all were very nice fish( 2-14in and many 12 & 13's), but did catch a lot of very small fish. They seemed to be in a transition stage from the banks to deep water...they were all scattered in 10-13 foot range and suspended at 6-8 ft...Caught some on jigs and others on cranks. Good Luck!
