    Default morels and crappies

I love this time of year... a day on the lake and fresh crappies and a walk across the property to pick some fresh morels what a combo.
I am still off work because of hip surgery so this is the first time in a long time that I have had the time to take full advantage of this time of the year.
I have been trying some of the recipes on this board ( the potatoes flakes one is a five star) and I will try it on the morels next.
I have had to listen to you fishermen down south for about a month or so now .... so finally the canadians get their turn.
I started checking over my video equipment and if the weather would have been better I would have gone after some new crappie video.
    Later Ken

Morels are great eating mushrooms. The best crappie bite and the best time to find morel mushrooms is about the same time and lots of folks around here enjoy meals of them at the same time.

I thought we were going to get no morels at all this year .... untill now it had been a woodtick spring ( Dry and warm) which will not grow morels. But as of late cool temps and good rains ( man we need it). I think this is going to be a banner year for morels ....just a little late.
