from what we've gathered in our readign of old posts is that the Eagle 480 comes highly recomended....and i believe the lowrance X96 is the "same thing"....

    We're "open" to suggestion....

I have the x96 and it does a very good job...I know that the Eagle has more pixels, but I have heard mixed reviews on it, but more good than bad...You cannot go wrong with the x96.

    thanks chad...

anothe roption is the Humminbird 717. it's the one that you can plug your GPS into it and BAM...

west marine has it for $199 w/ a free speed sensor rebate...i'm leaning heavily that way right now...

I've got the eagle 480 and have been very pleased with it. Great unit for the price.
