I have thought about getting one. Looks like it would make it easier to hook up by yourself.

I've never used one, but I bet they work good.
Couple of my buddy's have them and swear by them, they have fiberglass boats that don't move around easy and say they are great for hookin your boat up by yourself
Bill, Never tried one but man it sure looks good. Some Mornings its 3-4 trips out of the truck loading the trailor by myself!!

I made my own " Hitch alignment helper" out 2 pieces of 5 inch x 3 inch x 1/4 inch flat bar with a piece of 2-1/2 inch x 3 inch x1/4 inch flat bar in the center . The two outside pieces set at a 45 degree angle .I welded these to a piece of 1 inch x 6 inch key stock then weld them to the receiver . My receiver is used upside down for this measurement . I made this 4 years ago and I love it . This sure helps for a easy hook up and it lets you know before you jack knife and tear up the back of your truck while backing at a sharp angle . I hope this help you decide.

I use one for my big boat because the tongue weight is so high. It works great. Don't use it on my jon boat because I can move it enough to hook it up.
If I get it that close I can usually move the tongue side to side enough to get it on the ball. I put down a thick piece of plywood under the tongue jack to make it easier to move side to side.
My big issue is either getting too close or not close enough to the ball. It's much harder to move my boat backwards and forwards so I usually have to move the truck a couple times to get it right on the money.
Those mornings that everything aligns on the first try are great! That's when you say "D**n I'm good!" :D
