My girlfriend outfished me today.. and every time I have gone fishing with her!

I think the times before it was just because she was using my poles while I untangled the ones she had tangled before.. But this time I went out and bought her a 20 dollar closed face micro spin from wal-mart and she still outfished me! She caught a nice slab as well as a keeper. I caught some bluegill/ green sunfish, one tiny crappie, and a couple small bass. Still better than going to the movies for a date though. And I'm really glad I found a girl who likes fishing!

I can relate - my wife has consistently outfished me for years. I have the occasional hot-day where I catch more or bigger fish than she does, but for the most part, she does better than me. It's not because of tangles either, the only thing I do for her is rig her pole, she baits her hooks and takes the fish off herself (unless it's a toothy critter like a pickerel or pike). Must have something to do with "a woman's touch"? Dunno, but it makes for a great relationship having a wife that enjoys most of the same things you enjoy. For me, my wife is a dream-come-true... she likes fishing, camping, NASCAR races, Yankees baseball and Bills football!!! Can't beat that!

Like rangertee, my wife and I have fished together hundreds and hundreds of times and have gone to movies only a handful of times.

It' s good to have your significant other go fishing with you. Mine goes with me from time to time. She goes more to relax and usually spends more time reading a good book. The best part about it, she sees how much I enjoy it and doesn't fuss about me going so much.

My wife loves to fish, when she told me that I could'nt believe it, but she was'nt lying. She baits her own hook and takes of her own fish. It's great becauce now I can enjoy a day out with having to babysit.
