I'm told these people have good prices but I don't know that as a fact as I get mine from a local prop shop.

They have a great prop that you can replace the blades yourself right on the water if you damage one. They are made of a high tech thermo plastic composite. On my old johnson 85 Hp i could replace all three blades for less that what it cost to have aluminum prop rebuilt.
Check it out
Thank's fellow's for the info,I done some reseacher on both site's,also in BPS,
Guess what? a 40 hp yamaha & 40 Merc- carry the same prop-.I have a 40 merc- that I blowed the powerhead,& not going to fix.The prop on it is less than a year old.
The part number's is the same so it should work if the pitch is the same right?>>>>Bentpole
Yep, if the splines are the same and its the same diameter and pitch. You might need a different thrust bushing tho.Originally Posted by bentpole

My 1984 Yamaha 70HP has a SS Merc prop on it. It takes a special "collar" (bushing) that goes on before the prop. Otherwise it would have too much play in it, between the lower unit head and prop.
I found out a long time ago, that Merc & Yamaha had some interchangeable parts. After having several aluminum props rebuilt, on previous motors ... I purchased this SS Merc prop from a "mom/pop" shop that specialized in rebuilding &/or cutting down SS props. The guy made sure that I understood that the "collar" had to go on first, then the prop, or I could damage my motor. I think I paid around $200 for the prop & collar .... easily 15yrs or more ago. The prop is still in good shape, with only a few minor dings ... but, no more "rebuilds" or replacements have been necessary. So I think I got my $200 worth out of the investment. :D ......cp
