If you're talkin about the 9' ones I can tell ya that I have used em and seen em in action on Rango's boat and I consider them excellent. Nice soft tip for seeing the bite (paint the tip white for nitefishin) and very durable. If you don't need the long rods check out the Ugly Stix SPL 1102 in 5' That's what I use and the tip is so soft you can see the minnow shiver when a crappie gives him the hungry eye. The soft tips are too wobbly for good casting but make good for tightlining. Ugly Stix ain't very glamerous, but they'll still be with ya along time from now. Wish I had that attitude when i was lookin for wives the first coupla times...

I have and use the 9 ft ugly stick crappie rods. (they come in 8 ft lengths to) they are, in my opinion, one of the best rods ive ever used for the kind of crappie fishing im doing. I use em to night fish, drift with 3/4 oz weights, and for trolling lines verticle or out the back of the boat.Ive let others who fish with me use em when they wanted to, and all ive had has been favorable comments on em. they are very durable and tough. I have a half dozen name brand ten and 12 foot rods with broken tips i wish i had my money back on...

i have two of the 7.6 ft spinning rods and two of the 7.6 in casting rods. I mostly use the spinning rods freeling for striper and the casting rods for downlining for striper. sometimes ill use the spinning rods for trolling. all my rods for trolling are 7 ft medium action ugly sticks
