    Hi Everyone,

We are heading down to the lake this weekend and staying through Memorial Day weekend for some much needed R&R. How muddy/stained is the water with all of the rain you have been having? Do you think the Crappie have spawned yet? Any other tips to share aboout the fishing lately? Thanks in advance for the information!

Was down this weekend and fishing was tough to say the least. Water has color to it but think they have spawned over there. Try deeper is my suggestion. Good luck

Was out this evening. Caught two nice hybrids, one fishing like you would fish for walleye--spinners near the bottom. Also caught 6 nice crappies 11" to 13" on jigs--catch and release time for them.
Caught a toothy crappie the other day. Let'r go, too.
the trick to catch that finnicky speck....
gently set the hook just before the peck

Yeah they are on the banks just if you like 6-8 inch fish. You have to catch 20 to get a keeper

The water looks good in the upper end of the glaize but the fishin is super tough,i was on some nice females before the hard rains early last week but that has changed,i have trolled, fished brush, docks, shallow, deep and everything in between and havent got a limit in the last 3 trips, they are still packin eggs and the males have pulled back to deeper water and are not beat up with the 68-70 degree water they should be doing their thing this week if the weather stays stable like its supposed to....at least i hope so.

We were at the lake last weekend for the first time this year. Spent most of our time near the mouth of the Niangua. My buddy caught 12 keepers Saturday. I got there late Saturday and didn't fish. We cleaned twenty-four Sunday morning. All keepers, but nothing real large. Only one had eggs. We caught most of them suspended 4' to 6' deep in 10' to 16' of water off of rocky shores. My buddy who owns the boat fishes a lot of rivers. Couldn't convince him we should try to fish around the docks...that will have to wait till next time...

What a difference a day makes...i went last night and happened to be there when the stubborn succers decided to bite,i started at 3:30 and didnt have a fish until 5:30 and it was on till 6:30 when they decided to quit as quickly as they started, caught several nice fish with the biggest being 15" 1 pound 12 oz female that was still loaded with eggs...i guess the trick to it is being there when they decide to bite.
