Has anybody used these rods? How do they compare to BnM rods? Looking to get some cheaper 8 ft rods for trolling. They are in the right price range. I am looking for any rod that is cheaper with eva handles for holders. BnMs are great but lots of money. Does Silstar have 8 ft rods? Any Ideas? Thanks. CF

Havn't tried them personally but ive heard they work good. I myself use 10 foot BnM's for every thing but casting and for casting I use a 8 foot BnM.

you might try monkscrappie.com. he has the 8ft. HT rods for a good price. grizzlyjigs.com has the silstar in 10 ft. for a good price, also. I bought my wife the 10ft. Silstar and she loves it.

I recently purchased two 12 ft and two 9 ft WS's from Cabela's and they seem to be ok. I bought the rod and spinning reel combination and very happy with the 5 bearing reels, smooth. They come with an extra spool.
    Hope this helps.

i ordered two of the nine ft. combos.ive used them jigging but mostly use them tightlining kentucky rigs of the front of the boat. they work great even when the bie is light. they are very simular to the uglystick crappie rods.they seem to have a little stiffer action than a uglystick.great investment for the money.
