Nice looking boats!
I am looking at the 1800 as well as the 1700, but the 1800 I would have to wait about 6 weeks so I am not sure I can make that. Also the Mr. Pike is really nice, but I think may cost too much for my pocket.
Anyway look at the set up on these as they are set up for team tournament which would also be perfect for fishing with my grandkids. The can sit right next to me when fishing, cool huh?

Not sure. but It looks like the hull is single plated .100 where the Lund is double plated from mid boat forward with .080+.080 and the G3 is total hull double plated .100+.100 and they all use the same grade aluminum.Originally Posted by zebkedic

I appreciate the link to look, but it has come down to a Lund or G3 as I feel they are the best made aluminum boats that there is bar none.

You know I was not having any fun with this at all until last night late and it hit me about my boat I have now. I had a good trade offer from the G3 dealer and thought I would have to sell mine fast to get a Lund, but then it hit me that I can take the bucks out of savings to pay the one I have now off and return the money at a later time after it sells and I know it will sell as it's a great deal for someone.Originally Posted by creekslick
So now I am having fun for the first time during this last 2 months and they have been terrible.

The main difference in the Mr.pike from the explorer is that I believe the Mr.pike has a slightly wider beam and is rated for more HP in the same length over the Explorer. My parents have an Explorer sport 1700 and its only rated for a 125, the pike is rated for a 140 in the 17'. I have a classic Mr.pike 16' (turned 20 years old) and it works great for all kinds of fishing.
