Im thinking about switching from tight line to floats for trolling. How much weight can you put under a float? I use 1/2 to 3/8 oz minnow rigs now, cant see a float holding that much up. Do you guys that use floats feel they are easier to keep out of snags? Anything I need to know before I make the switch would be appreciated. I feel like I am missing too many subtle bites especially when there is a little wave on the water.

I took a five gallon bucket and experimented with different floats and different weights, heck, you can use a regular bucket or kitchen sink.
