Me and Mom'n'm went to Neely Henry 4/30. We caught probably 40 fish, kept 18 which I cleaned for my 82 year old Father in Law. Really made the old boy smile when he saw those filets. He used to be quite a Crappie fisherman until he came down with enphasemia and prostate cancer. He can still eat them though. Got some pictures will have to share later. Nearly all the ones we kept had eggs in them, but the fish weren't caught in spawning water. These were mostly suspended off the main river channel on blow-downs over 20 feet of water. Had a snake try to get in the boat with us. That's the second time this spring.
Sounds like you had a good trip toothpick. Watch out for them snakes though.
