    Default Sonar Viewer

Someone here had some pics of there sonar using Lowrance sonar viewer.
I've go the files on the computer and can look at and scroll threw the view.
My question is how to save it in say a JPG format so I can post them?

I've tried everything I can think of.

    Pause the playback
use <alt>PrtScn to capture the active window to the clipboard
    open an image editing application
    paste the captured image
save the image in JPG format

    Thank you PanMan.
    I'll give that a shot.

    Ok, that didn't work.
    Nothing is happening.
Should I open a editing program first then press Alt+PrintScreen?

Maybe I'm not opening the right program. What editing program do you use?

So far I must be missing something.

Hold down the Ctrl key and hit the PrtScn key at the same time. Open up Wordpad or MS Word or some other program and hold down the Ctrl key and V key to paste.

You should be able to paste in any application like Word, PowerPoint, Paint Shop Pro, etc.

Print screen should copy the entire desktop and alt+print screen should copy only the active window. If the print screen key has shared functionality, you may need to switch from one function set to the other. That is the "F Lock" button on one of my keyboards.

To copy the window or screen contents

To make a copy of the active window, press ALT+PRINT SCREEN.

    Nothing happens.

To copy the entire screen as it appears on your monitor, press PRINT SCREEN.

    Nothing happens.

    Note

To paste the image into a document, click the Edit menu in the document window, and then click Paste.

    This I kind of understand.

What I don’t understand is the ‘click edit menu in the 'document' window, and then click PASTE.
There is no edit in the Sonar viewer menu.

To copy information into another document

    1. Select the information you want to copy.

2.On the Edit menu, click Copy. (This is where it gets all screwed up for me.)

3.Click in the document where you want the information to appear.
On the Edit menu, click Paste. To copy information into another document

1.Select the information you want to copy.
2.On the Edit menu, click Copy. ?????????????
3.Click in the document where you want the information to appear.
4.On the Edit menu, click Paste.

I guess what I'm trying to say is there in NO place to select the info on the viewer program.

I apologize all,, for the lack of knowledge.

Even my (Microsoft Help) doesn't help.

    Default More info

The picture needs to be saved as such (.jpg, .gif, etc.) to your hard drive or put into a photo share program like Photobucket. Once that is done, then you can either attach the picture using the "paper clip" link which will attach the picture as an "attachment" at the bottom of your post:

Or use the image programs url to paste as a picture inside your post like this:

By the way, this is a picture of the same hard bottom transition I took last weekend using 4 different sensitivity settings to show how the wrong sensitivity setting can make a big difference in what you're seeing.

    Hope that makes sense...
