    Default Tactics for night fishing

For those of you who fish for Crappies at night how are you doing it? Are they holding in the same water as they would during the day or are they closer to the surface usually. Is this mainly just a tactic used in the summer? I am considering picking up one of those green lights you submerge which are supposed to attract baitfish and then Crappies come following the bait. I fish here in Michigan if that makes any difference. For the most part I have a good understanding of fishing during the day and do quite well most of the time, but I have never tried for them at night.

    Thanks guys,

I look for deep water next to a large flat or drop off. Creek channels near deep water work great also. I usually set up in at least 25ft of water and pull lines at 6-14ft. Hope this helps, If not just search "nightstalking" and you will have all the info you need.

There's a lot of info and experienced night stalkers on the SC board and you can also go to the articles and tips from the home page and rango has a good article on night stalking.
