I like to use an 8 or 9 foot rod. My 11 foot Buck's are just a little long in the brush.
What pole would you recommend for wading along shores and creeks to pluck crappies around stumps, brush and cattails?
How long should the pole be and what line would you use?
Thanks in advance,

CATCH A BIG-UN
9ft Wally Marshall. Great length and good backbone.
9 or 10 foot rods work best for me. Most crappie rods don't have as much backbone as I'd like.
Quantum has a Todd Huckabee rod line that I do like. I have a "Dippin Stick" that is pretty good. Quite a bit of backbone up to about 18 to 24" from the tip. One downside is that when you break it down one piece is still about 7' long.
Several of us here at work recently bought rods from a local place called Cherokee Rod Company. At least I think that is the right name. It has a little more backbone than the Quantum I mentioned and breaks down in the middle. I like it as well or better than the Quantum.
Quantum also makes a rod that is stiffer yet. I think it is called a "Riggin' Rod".
I'm not as good at this wading gig as a lot of guys so I need to keep every keeper I can. I loose fewer fish by also using a net when wading.

I like a 12 footer myself. I like to stay as far away as I can, and on the big bushes I can fish the whole thing from one spot, without worry of spooking fish . I have no trouble with a long pole. To each his own I guess.
