This is a water mocassin, also referred to as a cottonmouth. I checked the dog over real well and could find no bites. She is acting fine, showing no indication of being bit. If she was bit I would be seeing some sort of indication by now as to swelling or her favoring a particular area by licking the wound.
I killed another one a little bigger than this two nights ago. On Sunday my neighbor and I encountered one that was twice as big as this one. That snake was able to get away before I could dispatch (Kill) it.

Good dog!! Very good dog. We lost a bench legged beagle to a copperhead bite, and of course my horse had to get bit on the nose by one. he is a very friendly (if a little dim) horse. That was un fun.
    Be safe!

    Default Gemeny

Short and sweet. (I would move).
It is not enough that a man should toil and provide, but that he be granted the pleasure of fishing with a friend.
