Default Long lining hand tied jigs

Was just curious if anyone long lines with hand tied jigs. I usually troll with plastic baits curly tail paddle tails and so forth. And use my hand tied for casting. Seems Ive never had the same results with the hand tied trolling. I dont know if its I dont have the confidence in them to stick with them. Ive trolled with both in very similar color about the same amount of line out and the curly tail won hands down. Any suggestions. Thanks

Have had great results using hand tied squirrel tail jigs! Make them a little more thicker and make the tail about a 1/4” longer than normal here is a picture of the ones that’s been working for me.of course they aren’t something I tied because I can barely tie my shoes crappiedreamer made these

I use hand ties all the time. Sometimes, I will mix them with soft baits. They both work fine.

I spider rig with eight lines out. I put two of each kind of baits. Two minnows, plastic, two hand ties, then what ever tickles my fancy. I'll tell ya I think my hand ties win out over anything else.

Maybe I need to just take my hand tied and leave the plastics at home and force myself to use them. Thanks

Those are some nice jigs Prowler, and nice work Dreamer. You will find some handties that work better than others. Look at the pic Prowler posted, red collar, chartreuse collar and so on. As you use them some will stand out, and pay attention to what kind of day it is while you’re at it. Bright or overcast etc.... I troll plastics because I’m pre programmed. It’s time to get after the trolling bite around here, I have to practice what I preach. I’ll post when I do.
