Awesome solution
I've found that I can't anchor anywhere in these Central Florida lakes. They are just too deep for my 8' Power-Pole. I researched ways to extend it, but only found one option and it was $150. I spent around $20 for parts at Lowes and this is what I came up with. It works great and was super easy.

It's just a fiberglass pole with a handle. There are several companies selling them. Power-pole has one, Stickit, Wang, and others. This one was made by a friend of mine years ago.
