I like using bamboo also. It will usually keep up right on it's on as the chambers have air in there spaces but that also makes that more weight is need to sink them. Bamboo is also easy to work with the only down fall is they will only last a few years. Make sure you mark it with GPS. Fish habitat "build it and they will come".
Be safe and good luck fishing

Great job! But tell me, don't you get hung up on all that brushy bamboo? I'd think that would be difficult to fish, but I've never tried it.

Nice catch....they find that stuff fast. I fish a tailrace that has a recycling dump down river a little bit. There are 2 mooring cells there for a barge to tie to for loading. I have been on one side of the river fishing...watch a barge dock there....pull off my spot and head for the barge and without fail 100's of crappie have shown up to get under them. Amazing how fast it happens.

    Regards

almost impossible to hang a jig in it with that smooth skin on the limbs , a heavy hand might but most cant lose a jig in it . the little stuff will break off if you get hung in it and the big stuff is barkless . its a real nice thing to put down in no boating areas for sure .
I imagine in a crappie mind its a pile of willows and to me its longer lasting than willow and as good best I can tell .
