    Default July Low River Levels

The Black Warrior River is getting pretty low in West Alabama.
I was fishing in the mouth of a creek the other day and there was no current at all. There were some catfish noodles in the main river channel and they were drifting up stream. It was sunset and not a breeze around. Can a river flow backwards between Lock & Dams or is that some type of eddie in the channel causing that? Even my boat was slowly drifting up stream.

I don't know your specific river, but when ours gets low enough it will flow backwards. Brings salt content way further than normal and completely shuts down the bite.
