Default need help finding info on a older boat

The boat is a 1988 Alumacraft 16ft stick steer. It is a one owner boat. He is a friend that just turned 89 and is retiring from fishing. The boat came as a stick steer from factory. He can't remember the exact model name. It is not a V hull, and not a crappie deluxe, but has the looks of the deluxe at the front. It has a 25hp 1988 Merc 2 stroke. Runs great. Blue carpet is still in good shape. Garage kept. I can't seem to find any info.

How about the Crappie Magnum...I was also remembering the king fisher stick steer, but I think that's another brand name. good luck with the search.

I’m pretty sure it is just the MV series outfitted with stick steering. Not much difference between it and the deluxe of that era. Rates for 25.

I checked HIN. No model specified but manufactured by Alumacraft in 1986.

I searched MV models and found 1986 Alumacraft brochure and it looks to be the Super Hawk SS model.

The boat length on the registration doesn't match brochure. prob a typo at the reg office. I know my friend bought the boat new about 30 years ago.

Brochure showed the max HP to be 25-35. Never seen this rating before..

As to the length I had a 16 foot Jon that was registered as 15 foot. I bought it from the owner’s widow so I couldn’t ask him why. But I suspect he registered it at its “waterline length” because 16 foot was about $10 more a year than 15 foot.
