And obviously Coop thinks a lot of you too, to have shared with his father about Mr CanePole
Too bad all our Vets didn't get the welcome and thanks they deserved.
I was at my desk today when a young man (early forties) walked up with an outstretched hand. I stood and we shook hands. He then said “welcome back”. I was somewhat puzzled so I said “ok, now where have I been”? He said, “you are Tom Lewis and you served in Viet Nam didn’t you’? I said “yes”. He said he was Coop’s dad and that he had served in Iraq. He told me he had his “welcome home” and he had stopped by to give me one. What a hand shake and a hug I got. Shook me up a little.
Coop is a high school senior and received a football scholarship from Bethel College. Good kid. I see where he gets his integrity. He fishes too!
Just to share,
Tom

Must've been a great feeling. Glad that ya made it through and got home. And for those who've never said it, thank you for your service.
I would have been touched too. I know you guys were met with hate in some instances, called unbelievable names, mocked and spit upon for serving our country. You deserve a proper "Welcome Home Soldier". I wouldn't want to HUG you though..:D
