    Default live bait time ?

yes I said it , it might be that time of year . the fish are really finicky it seems in these parts .
but as you have probably figured out by now it isn't my thing .
I imagine I could rack up some numbers and large fish with some frisky minnows .
heck I might even ketch a large number of them as well .
but again it isn't me and I need the challenge of duping them into taking an artificial bait .
I could even drop down several minnows in a spider rig fashion and really put hurt on them .
shoot I might even have to video such an event
and do photos of me standing with several large fish on every finger
but to be sure I don't want to kill many fish
and for sure don't want to try to keep bait alive either .
but again I am not downing anyone employing this strategy or his or hers methods of captures of said quarry .
anyway I hit a spot a friend invited me to Tuesday
I managed a mere 83 crappie 1 bass 1 warmouth and 1 lone bluegill in less than 2 hours .
and all the fish were managed on artificial baits in several colors.
I employed slab sauce and even crappie nibbles and also went bare jig .
I was bait testing and scent testing and even did a video at one point .
now mind you its only a 5 second one and it was of a bait school on the surface .
and at the 3 second mark you see a hook set ,the reel blows up and the line breaks !
and I cut it off right before I said choice words
so here are a few photos of said event and the fish were VERY finicky on the bite .
6 foot down in 7 foot of water they were .
stay tuned and hope you have a great day
p.s. I have a few other photos as well , heck I even might have a selfie or 2

a "lil fry" in glo truese some friends of mine make over on lake fork .
they make that color/body in several sizes along with a multitude of other colors
    that's the smallest one .
Thermocline lures and if you want they will pour you your own custom colors btw
they are a ma and pa shop and the baits are not found in stores
Todd and Belinda and tell em I sent ya if you decide to get baits from them .
not the cheapest of baits but to be sure good quality stuff

I am known to break tackle , that's why manufacturers seek me out to test their stuff in some cases .
I am really hard on equipment and its not the first hook I have broke off there either .
not many folks feet leave the ground or the deck when they set the hook as well .

Nice catch! Come on, use some minners and see if you can beat 83!

Some great ketchn as usual! What make is that one plastic bait, with what looks like a long ribbon tail? Interesting.

You've proven with those excellent photo examples that you (and anyone else) can catch fish of different species - over 85 in one day in fact - on different lure designs and totally unnatural colors.

Thanks for the time you took to post your outing with photos and observations. A picture speaks a thousand words that can't be denied.
