You had a good time for awhile at least.
Have not been able to fish lately so I took advantage of the sunshine. In the first 45 minutes I had 4 small bass, (1) 11" gill, and (5) 11 & 13" crappie. I though wow this is going to be fun. Then the wind changed from nw to ne and everything shut down. I stayed 3 more hours without getting bit. The crappie were in a weed bed 12 ft deep and coming out and up for a blue Flicker Shad. Later I tried sliders and hair jigs and deeper cranks. Absolutely nada.

What he said. Good that it was turned on for a while anyway.

Good action for a bit anyway. Like an old timer once told me "Winds from the west fish bite the best. Winds from the east fish bite the least."

I have had a lot of days like that. I dread days when my first drop produces a large crappie as past experience has shown me it goes downhill from that.
But as was said, you did have fun at first and a slow day on the lake beats just about anything else you could be doing.

Any day I'm fishing is a good day, regardless of what I catch.

South east wind today but I am going through fishing withdrawls. Guess I will be brave and try it again
