    Looks like a case of Distracted Driving to me, he is looking at his locator unit and then has to make an abrupt turn to keep from hitting a channel marker pole.

    I think it is a requirement that those sparkly boats must always go 70 mph!

    Yeah, but he was only going 55mph ( a couple mph faster than my boat can go). It was hard to tell how "hard/fast" he turned the boat to avoid the marker, but even at my cruising speed of 40mph ... I know better than try to make a "bat turn".

    The main factor seems to be that the passenger wasn't holding on to anything, and it was his body that knocked the driver out of the boat. But, yeah ... having the kill switch hooked up to the driver would have stopped the boat from circling & potentially running over them. I just can't figure out why the boat sped up from 9mph to 30mph while going in circles

    just because you can afford an nice rig , boat or car or truck for sure don't mean your a skilled driver …..
