Question Poll spinning reel handle on which side

I'm right handed and have my reel handles on the right side of my spinning rods. I've been told that's backwards, my thought was every other type of rod and reel i use (baitcast, spincast, fly) the handle is always on the right side. I know this is a matter of preference, but let's have a little fun with it. Which way do you prefer?

Right handed, right side. You wouldn't believe how many times I have had other right handers tell me I had my handle on the wrong side. My answer is always the same, right or wrong depends on whose using it, that's why they make the handle easy to swap around. Good poll though!

Like you said, it is a matter of preference. All my reels have the handles on the the left. I have to buy “left handed” bait casters to get the handle on the correct side for me. I am right handed and cast with my right hand. I don’t see the sense of switching the rod back and forth to cast and reel. I throw a lot of top water baits, and with my “left hand” reel I can start my retrieve as soon as the lure hits the water.

I'm left handed, but find it almost impossible to reel with my left hand.

I am a lefty and reel with my right. Swapping hands when you throw, is a pain to me.

Right handed and right side on spinning and baitcast. I've tried the left and its just weird to me!

Funny just thinking about this the other day. All of the spinning combos have the handle on the left and the bait casters handles on the right. I was thinking about purchasing a new BFS rod/reel combo and started thinking why were the handles not on the left???? duh. Just seems more efficient to not switch hands back and forth. I guess it comes from just buying and using what was available in the store when purchased and making due with it.

That is what I did also when I got some baitcasters for my rigging poles. Right handed, left side for me.
