    Default Didn’t expect this reaction

This morning I was waiting for my clients with my boat behind the truck. We were at a KY Lake Resort but were going to Barkley for the day. Two guys drove up, looking for their guide. I directed them to his location. One of the guys asked if I was fishing and I said I was but on Barkley. He then asked me what bay I was fishing??
Anybody who knows me knows I’ll help anybody but this caught me off guard. I told him No, I wasn’t telling and that info is what I get paid for. He didn’t much appreciate my answer. I guess he thought I should just willfully tell him anything he needed to know. Thankfully my clients walked up before the conversation got any more interesting.
I would never ask somebody to direct me to their fishing area but I guess some don’t see a problem doing so.
BTW, we had an awesome day in a Bay still unnamed. Name: IMG_3287.jpg

Good trip. I would have sent that guy to the other side of the lake.

At least he didn't ask you to help him catch 200 fish over his limit.

    Practice a non-committal reply:
Q: Catching anything? A: no, just a couple small ones
    Q: where you going? A: I haven't decided yet..
Q: where they biting? A: I don't know; I'm just debugging my electronics.
    Q: <insert question> A: I don't know. I'm new here.

I give them my usual: nada. squat. Sometimes I will respond to a polite inquiry if there are children present that I can help get on some fish. I am too old to be teaching any adult to fish, so I don't, and they can find their own spots.

You did good! Put in the time and figure out where the fish are and what they want or pay a good license guide that has already done that!

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
