I saw another post on this board in another state of a fisherman asking anyone if they knew of any farm ponds to fish for crappie or bass. I am interested in that as well. I am not looking to keep any fish. I would just like to be able to go out for an hour or so somewhere to do some fishing rather than having the hassel to take the boat out. I live in the Lawrence area, so if anyone knows of any ponds people are willing to let others fish in please let me know. I have not lived in the area long enough to know many people outside of town that would be willing to let me go without just going up to their house and asking....I feel that really puts pressure on the owner to let you go when they may not actually want you to. You can email me at [email protected].
You might check out the KDWP 2007 Fishing Atlas. The State leases private ponds and river and stream access for public use. The Atlas would list by county any private ponds or stream access. Don't know that many folks lease their land if they are close to the major metropolitan areas.
