Default Night fishing during the spawn.

I’ve got a bass/crappie fishing set up for Lake Fork next week. After the 7 hour drive it’s pretty much fishing day and night for 5 days. The crappie could possibly be up shallow spawning by then. Has anyone ever fished for crappie at night when their shallow and spawning? I never have. We always have decent luck bass fishing but I’ve never tried the shallow bite at night for crappie.

sparkie51One lake that I fish you can hardly find a spot after dark during the spawn. There are people elbow to elbow along the causeways with latterns drawing the fish in close to shore. And some very large catches can be had.

I plan on fishing at night during the next few weeks. In previous years the majority of my crappie fishing the year around was done at night, under a light.
