    Default Fish still deep here on Lake of the Pines


    We fought 25 mile an hour winds this morning but loaded the boat.
    all caught in 20’ of water on down timber

    Nice catchn...... There will always be crappie deep since they don't all spawn at the same time.....

    In 20 fow or 20 ft down? If the former I consider that shallow. If its the latter I consider that normal for around here.

    nice ketch ...never have understood why some go so shallow so quick when the water temps aint "right' according to all the actually know folks . And to be sure some lakes are way different than others on the spring fling . I have heard a million explanations from bait to average water depth to special warm spots to moon phase and so on and NONE of it pans out exactly in my experience .
    many times one end of the lake before the other as well and or west side versus east side or north side south side . some defies explanation at times as well and in the end ...it is what it is ...
    This is mother nature at her best for sure and the indigenous of the area doing what it takes to reproduce .
