Default Easy Vertical Jig At Same Depth Every Time!

Learned something new today the biggest surprise was it's literally been right under my nose the whole time and I didn't have a clue.

When I vertical fish using spinning reels I try to get my line back to the same depth each time I catch a fish short of hand lining it in I'm never quite sure that it's at the same depth after I reel in. I try counting the cranks and such but in the excitement of the catch I usually loose track. So after I came across this video I did a search and found a post here on CDC from 2009 about how to utilize this tool that you already have, it's more than just for line storage.

Wish I new this years ago!

I'll be danged. I don't even know if all my reels have those. Maybe they do.

Not knowing about that is sorta the same as finding out that the gas gauge in a vehicle has an arrow that points to the side of the vehicle that the gas fill tube is on. No telling how many times I've driven my wifes car, or a rental or whatever and not known which side of the car to pull up to the gas pump.

Thanks for posting this. I am ashamed to admit it but in all the years I have been fishing I have never paid any attention to that tab. But as was pointed out, it is so obvious once it is brought to my attention. And yes, I just discovered this year about the gas gauge arrow.

I am not concerned about occasionally losing tackle to large fish as was discussed in the other video as I will lose more to brush hangups than I will ever lose to a large bass.
