    Default Line for casting.

This question is for the casting crowd. If you had to choose one line, what brand, type, weight, and color, would it be?
No leaders. Tied directly to the jig.

Stren 6# original. For walleye jigging, crappie jigging, trout fishing, stealhead fishing....... Been using it for over 35 years.

For casting, I look at line diameter, not "pound test". Therefore, I prefer the following:

    Trilene XL 2# (.13mm diameter)

    Stren Crappie Mono 2# (.15mm)

    Trout Magnet SOS 2# (.16mm)

    Spiderwire Ultracast Mono 4# (.15mm)

    Stren Crappie Mono 4# (.17mm)

If I were fishing really snaggy places, I might bump up to .20mm line (generally sold as 4# test.)

6# stren or gamma or vicious in clear or hi vis. I’ve been successful with them all.

No...it is not on his site. I really like those fine diameter lines....even though they are hard to see.....get the benefits of sensitivity.....casting distance.......and the stretch of mono.
