I can also vouch for the Shakespeare Micro Series and I'm a bank angler. Fished the 6 1/2'L last year and enjoyed it for crappies and SMB. It is flexible without being noodly. The 7'L (which I examined at WalMart yesterday) feels similar in action. I also acquired a 6 1/2'ML Cherrywood this winter but have not fished it yet. It's slightly stiffer than the Shakespeare but also slightly lighter. Either makes a fine crappie rod.
