Default 2 Baits On One Line

    Hello,

What are your thoughts about using 2 baits on a line? Either 2 jig heads with minnows a few feet apart or one minnow and 1 grub, etc.

    thanks

ummmmm............ I do it all the time.

But you have to check your fishing regulation for your state, to make sure it is legal

I've done it a couple of times and it's worked fine. I put a weight at the bottom, a jig 18 inches up, and a minnow 18 inches up from there and drifted. This is something I'm not used to yet, but plan to try it more.

Done a lot of double rigs and use them tight line spider rigging down at Reelfoot Works good to cover a few different depths, etc. And occasionally, you will actually get two fish on one pole, but not often.

Been using that method here in Missouri this past week since the cold front moved in. The crappie went deep and it seemed to help with the numbers. Got two doubles on Monday with 2" chartreuse tube jigs. We've been killin them for the past 2 weeks now on a near by public lake. Kinda fun to watch all those people around us watching their floats with minnows. They might catch one or two fish in the time it takes us to jig up 20 or 30.:D

This is the Capps/Coleman rig which they say in their book is what they use and I believe they catch a lot of fish.

I use 3 jigs of different colors to see what they like, then switch to what ever color they hit the best.

same kind of set-up was in the latest and new NAFC magazine I just got in the mail within a week ago. Used while long rod'ed off the front of the boat and very slow'ed trolling.
