I remember those....I never had one but a friend of mine did.

In the early years Johnson made some real good reels at a real good price like the Century, Sabre, 710.

I still have a Century and Sabre. Virgil Ward used them so they were good enough for dad.

I still have two centuries. Fish with them some now. Really like the slow retrieve of the centuries.
I have a couple of those early Centurys as well. Grew up beating the heck out of 'em and like a Timex, they just keep on ticking!

If you wanted a spinner bait to stay up high in water, you had to start reeling before spinnerbait hit the water. I loved my Johnson Century's.
