Default Where are the BIG ones?

    I'm catching a lot of 7 - 9 3/4" crappie working a jig along the bank (6" - 2 1/2' of water) but I can't seem to land any keepers.

    Any advice?

Id fish out off the bank in a little deeper water and or use bigger baits.

Back off out in say 6''-8' or so and try as they may be just staging area stuff going on.

I caught some today under the bridge in 21' of water and they were down something like 10'-12'. However I lost the afternoon to the wind.

Hey Judge, I don't fish all that shallow even during the spawn. I stay out about midway up the creek channels between the bank and the main river channel. We have a lot of small brushpiles along these travel routes and normally we're fishing about 6 to 8 feet deep even though people are catching males in 2 feet of water.
We probably catch 80 percent big females compared to the smaller males that we pick up.
