    Default kota max amp fuse?

    Hi,
First time i used my Minkota Max 55 thrust trolling motor I burn out the fuse. It was a 20 amp fuse and I'm wondering if it was the right size? Should it be a 30 amp?

    Default Fuse/Circuit Breaker

I run a 46# motorguide it uses a 40amp. I recently switched to a 40amp circuit breaker. Marine dealers have them from about 7.99-$50.00. The 7.99 works just fine and easy to install.

I bought mine at radio shack.
Can't remember exactly the cost but it wasn't expensive.

Check you manual. I believe max current draw on that motor is around 45 amps so you should have a 50 amp fuse.

Minn Kota has a 60 amp resettable breaker that works real good. I think I got mine a Cabelas for bout 40 bucks. Nope. 60 amps is not over fusing. A locked (stalled) motor will draw much more than 60 amps.
