what colors shoud I buy?

I haven't crappie fished for about 6 years now and wanted to start again this spring. I've been looking for some crappie jigs but there are thousands of colors, what are some good colors to start with? Most lakes that i fish on usually have less than 2 feet of visibility at the clearest and 1 lake has around 3 foot of visibility at best. For the past month it's been pretty muddy with all the rain.

Any color is good long as it has some chartreuse in it

I'll go a little farther than Tman53 ... and say dark color bodies & light color tails. Contrasting colors give you a wider range of visibility (to the fish) in most any water clarity. Old standby's like blue/chartruese - black/char - purple/char & even green/char are good starting points. Solid white - solid chartreuse - and solid pink are also good choices for the clearer to lightly stained waters (when they occur).

Just don't get too hung up on color, as Crappie have been know to hit every color & color combo we can come up with. And if you don't believe that .... just look at the various colors/combos of Slabanator jigs (made by the man that won the CUSA 2018 Classic, "slabeye" ... also known as Rodney Goforth). (and don't forget to have some 1/16oz marabou Road Runners in solid chartreuse or one of their "chicken" color combos ... and if you want a solid pink Road Runner ... light pink or hot pink ... check with Skiptomylou, also known as Skip Nantz of Thumpit Jigs and he'll custom tie you some)

It ain't no use if it ain't chartreuse.
While it is true that other colors will occasionally out-fish chartreuse, I would NEVER fish for crappie or bluegill without chartreuse jig bodies.

Minnow and shad colors will work.

This site and members can give a good array of different color
combinations and means that do catch fish in waters they fish

Myself for the surrounding area's and different waters I intend to fish
I will usually ck on some lake maps that will give info
what works best on those waters
contacting the DNR is another source
even the local bait shop in that area could be interesting
Or get variety of all the above posted
