    Default Twister tail grubs ?

I guess this has been discussed before but not sure. Do you turn the tail up or down? I mainly use tubes but came across a great buy on some twister tail grubs and paddle tail swim baits so will be trying them.

some time ago. Best I can remember ... the general concensus was that both ways worked, but turned "down" was mentioned as being less likely to let the curly tail get wrapped around the hook bend or stuck on the hook point. I use them so infrequently, I really don't have a preference ... or all that much experience with them.
Now, the "paddle tails" .... I always turn them "down"

I have used them since the original purple MrTwisters and I have always used them down. I have tried both ways, but I think the tail hits more resistant water when pointed down, therefore getting more action from it. I still use them frequently. If you observe twister tailed baits where there is no choice and the head is molded into the body or where there is no option, the tail is always down. With the tail up I think the turbulence created by the body sometimes decreases the tails action.
Good things come to those who bait.

I use them occasionaly when casting. My little mind tells me they should go down so they will not get fowled up on the hook point and be exposed to more drag there fore giving more action.

Upward away from the hook will give you the best action.

Either way works and gets fish. I try to mix it up a bit and use some up and some down - then see what the critters are hitting on any given day.
