mittens are warmer than gloves. I like a muff or kangaroo pocket with hand warmer in it. I also keep towels to dry my hands often.

Who are these people "dipping their hands in the minner bucket" in the Winter ???

Try this : take a small towel and drape it over your lap - dip minner with a minner net - drop minner onto towel - pin minner down on towel and place hook into minner - drop minner overboard &

(you can thank my GrandMother for this process )

"bflowers" above nailed it! Been using rag wool, fingerless gloves for many decades. They get wet and they still keep your hands from freezing. You still need a pair of chemical hand warmers in each pocket, the these gloves make any cold water fishing tolerable.

I bought a pair of Legends fishing gloves, in the fishing area at Walmart, a few years ago. They are thin with a little thinsulate and goretex but not bulky. So far so good, and only about $20 bucks if I remember correctly. I still use handwarmers in my pockets though.
