Oh yea, water has been pretty clear even with all the rain and snow melt. Not sure of water temp, but no ice for sure.
Hello Folks. I been trying my luck around Springfield area for crappie. Now I'm fishing from the bank, and I have tried jigs, both tied and with plastics, from natural looking to al sorts of color combos, from less than a foot to 20 foot deep with out much luck. Skunked last three times out. I've tried the attractant Skip sells on the site, in both flavors, the little marshmallow attractants and others with no luck. I know there are fish where I'm fishing but not even a nibble. Any help and advise would be very appreciated.

Yes, both where the old boat ramp is by the boat house, and below the dam.

I have a float tube, and a set of stocking foot neoprene waders, just waiting on my neoprene water shoes to come in so I can get off the bank and can get to some better spots. Maybe up river a bit and more where the channel runs.

Thers a small brush pile under the west 65 hwy bridge on the north side. 1/6 once squirming squirt jig works or a rooster tail with silver blade

Went out again yesterday for a couple hours in the afternoon. Tried to cast across the river at the 65 bridge as my knee and ankle was hurting pretty good and wouldn't be able to walk around to the other side. No matter what I did, it wasn't happening. I did get my neoprene water boots ordered and they are on the way, so maybe in a couple weeks I can float over on my new to me float tube...and for those wandering, yes I got skunked...
