Default Alumacraft Crappie Jon - Anyone have any experience with these?

We are looking for a smaller boat to fish the local rivers and am leaning toward the Alumacraft Crappie Jon. Does anyone have any experience with them? I would put a 20hp Yamaha on the back. I want something light and a bit nicer than a plain jon, and I don't want to go to the 16' Crappie Deluxe. Thanks for any feedback you could provide.

Forty years ago I had a very similar boat with a 20 Mercury. It was a screaming eagle :-) I always felt I had overpowered it, but it was a fish catching machine. It had a cooler attached to a frame between the chairs. 15 footer with that 20 was enough to make a little run down both legs at times! Kinda like being a real screaming eagle!

I see a lot of those in my neck of the woods
Usually set up with stick steering up front.
Very efficient on days when you need to “run and gun “

Don't know about Arkansas, but ive also been thinking about a small Jon boat, and have found lots of them listed on Craigs List here in Florida.

Here is a pic of Blackhawk19 boat. 14 footer. 1460 model. Theys nice boats for shallow water. lots walking round room.

I own a 1672 model of this same boat. Lov it too. Easier to get in and out of vs the Jon boat.

I luv Jon boats. Had one since I was a kid. Ima still a kid, just rounder at the waist.

How does the pondtoon do in the wind as far as blowing around easily ?

not bad. my boat sits about 8-10 inches out of the water. it doesn't blow around like a standard pontoon with metal side curtains.

MY wife and I out from our dock West Sandy KY Lake piic. sets low in water and no border sides to catch wind. We like it. lots of room even though this pic don't show it.
