    Default Turkey Hunting

I know this site is all about crappie, but I was wondering how many of us chase after gobbler's too? I'm taking my son out this weekend for our youth season. It's gonna feel more like deer season. Regardless, we'll be out hunting and spending time together.

Good time for a break from the crappie until the weather stabilizes.

    Good Luck!!!!!!!!

Last weekend started it here. Dad and I doubled. It was my first one. We are hopefully going again this weekend. My 5 yr son is dying to go with us. He thinks he is going to call us one in. I am going to have to take him one of these day but probably not this weekend he would freeze out there.
If in doubt, cross their eyes!!

Might as well, between the wind and the record cold wouldn't expect the Crappie fishing to be anything to write home about. Turkey hunting is gonna be pretty hard as well. Probably have to try to bushwack one. Goodluck everyone.

Our season came in 3/15 and I finally got one last monday. 10 3/4 beard, 3/4" spurs and weighed 18.5lbs. Only took about 10 minutes once I located him. Killed him at 10:15 am.

I know I should get me a tag this year, we saw 5-6 nice turkeys last weekend out geocaching, I'm sure that one was a gobbler, but they run off pretty fast. I've never turkey hunted, but I do have the shotgun for it, and the licence and upland stamp.
    I have a jig with a face like this!
