I rarely buy minners anymore but I used to buy the pink minners because they lived longer and they catch fish.

With minnows comes not only the initial expense, but keeping them alive as well. And each minnow is usually only good for one fish. Where as with plastics, there is only the one time charge (which is usually less than the cost of a minnow) and they are good for several fish. Bottom line is that the plastics today are so much better that most will fish solely with them and no longer use live bait. JMO!

I can buy regular or rosie reds at my local bait shop. I have fished them side by side the crappie had no preference. I don't see the need to pay more of the rosie reds.

The minnow man took me off of his Christmas card list. Haven’t used any in a long time and don’t plan on starting back. Fishing jigs is a different kind of fishing and not for everyone, but worth the trip through the learning curve. I now can go fishing with a ziplock holding a few extras in my shirt pocket and a rod in my hand. That is reminiscent of my days hunting with a 30/30 Winchester in my hand and going for a walk. No stand, no fancy this or that. Not for everyone but suits me fine. I’m willing to bet you will come to the dark side one day.

the only time I have seen that it makes a difference was when I was fishing some dark dingy water and they were hitting reds and gold fish (feeder).
